The standardized and reproducible color matching process requires reproducible conditions. Natural light will be a good starting point for defining light quality, but its spectrum will vary over time and location. Therefore, a unified observation condition requires the use of artificial sunlight to create color matching areas, with CIE D65 being the most common in manufacturing.

All JUST color matching light boxes meet the requirements of ISO 3668 for color matching boxes and their lighting:

• JUST LED moduLights or JUST fixtures equipped with JUSTdaylight 6500 proIndustry fluorescent tubes (D65 light source) meet the specified BC quality level
• Illumination within the range of 1000-4000 Lux (depending on the model)
• The overall inner wall can block external light and has a matte, neutral gray surface (Munsell N7)
• Attention: For very bright substrates, the inner wall should be brighter. For very dark substrates, the inner wall should be matte black to reduce contrast between the environment and colored samples. Corresponding inner walls can be provided upon request.
• Diffuse uniform light without light source reflection on colored substrates
• The working hour meter displays when the lamp needs to be replaced to continue meeting the standards

In order to achieve standardized color control, it is necessary to choose D50 lighting for printed materials and D65 for industrial products such as coatings, plastics, varnishes, etc. If it is necessary to detect color or substrate heterochromatic aberration, other lighting/light sources are required. Using JUST color matching light box, users can choose different sizes and quantities of light sources, but should include at least light source D65 and light source A to detect color difference spectra.
